The 1979 Hester Series Contest Hi Roller Skatepark - Boulder Colorado. This is never before seen complete footage from the actual event that was professionally filmed. If you are unfamiliar with the Hester Series, it was a series of contests held at various skate parks across the USA. Points were combined from all events and at the end the skater with the overall highest rankings was crowned the winner. Steve Olson won the inaugural series and you will have to buy the DVD to see who wins this one! The Crown Jewel Boulder event is from the second year of the Hester Series and features skating from Duane Peters, Ray Rodriguez, Steve and Mickie Alba, Brad Bowman, Jay Smith, Dave Andrecht, Eddie Elguera, Chris Strople, Darrell Miller and a hand full of other early pool pioneers that helped pave the way for today's mega stars. The footage and sound quality of this DVD is fantastic for being close to 30 years old and watching Jay Smith doing his infamous layback with the Ramones playing over the speakers is worth the price of the DVD alone.
